Cross Sectional Descriptive Study

Tracks the number and the characteristics of youth and families who have received services through the Kalamazoo Wraps System of Care.  This involves collecting demographic and descriptive data from participating Kalamazoo Wraps families.  A multi-site, national endeavor implemented by all SAMHSA funded System of Care communities. Ends September 2011.

Longitudinal Child and Family Outcomes Study

A series of interviews every 6 months for 3 years (7 interviews total) with caregivers and youth (aged 11-17) receiving services through the Kalamazoo Wraps System of Care.  The purpose is to determine whether the SAMHSA funded System of Care sites are well coordinated, family-driven, youth-guided, culturally competent, and effective at reducing detrimental mental health symptoms and improving personal and family strengths. A multi-site, national endeavor implemented by all SAMHSA funded System of Care communities. Ends September 2011. 

The Local Evaluation

Designed to help local Kalamazoo Wraps stakeholders with their System of Care transformation efforts.  Local evaluation components include additional data collection that is of interest and/ or importance to stakeholders, catered analysis and data reporting, and provision of evaluation related technical assistance across numerous youth serving agencies and groups.  Flexibility is incorporated into the design of the local evaluation so that components can developed as needed, through numerous stakeholder driven planning processes that exist in the county.
